Memory recall - verbs A-B

Memory recall - verbs A-B

I tried this myself and it was fun and I shocked myself on what I have learned so far. The challenge is to recall all the verbs you can remember starting with A and B, writing out the spanish verb and what it means in English. The trick is that you can't use the dictionary and you can't look at the answers 1st. After you write all you can remember then you can look at what others have written. Next week try this again to see if you have improved. Put "2nd attempt"

For a little more of a challenge, also put R for truly regular; SP for spelling change verbs; S-T for stem changing verbs; I for truly irregular.

If you can recall what the verb is but can't remember the meaning, go ahead and write the verb out with __________ next to it.

Más suerte!

Asistir (to assist) Borrar (to erase) Caminar (to walk) Dormir (to sleep) Escribir (to write) Freir ( to fry) Gustar (to like) Hacer (to do) Ir (to go) Jugar (to play) K_____ Limpiar (to clean) Mirar (to look) Nadar (to swim) Odiar (to hate) Poder (can) Quitar ( _____) Reir (to laught) Saltar (to jump) Tener (to have) U______ Venir (to come) W______ X________ Y________ Z________

This is a good game. Even thought I am fluent in Spanish, I could not think of some verbs and kept me thinking about it and the tranlation as well. Hope my verbs help Spanish's learners.

Poder is "to be able" sorry but "can" is not a verb. My hobby horse. :) - ian-hill, Apr 12, 2010
most sites put "can or be able to" and this is from memory so I think it is great! - foxluv, Apr 14, 2010

andar- to travel

anticipar-to anticipate

abortar-abort

aburrir- to bore

apuntar- to grade (?)

aparecer- to appear

amar- to love

anhelar- _____

advertir- _____

alcanzar- ________

atacar- to attack

animar- to animate (?)

arder-_____

beber- to drink

buscar- to search for

bailar-to dance

bañar-to bathe

bañarse- to bathe oneself

Wow... that took me a while to come up with those- and for about half of them, I had to sing a few songs I've heard in Spanish to add to my list and some others like atacar and anticipar, I decided to put there because they sounded like words (don't worry, I checked my 'made-up' words first to make sure I didn't confuse anyone-including myself).

<!-- HTML Codes by Quackit.com --> <style type="text/css"> .html-marquee {height:100px;width:400px;background-color:FFCCFF;font-family:Cursive;font-size:22pt;color:663399;border-width:4;border-style:solid;border-color:FF3399;} </style> SPANISH VERBS A TO Z

My intention was only the verbs beginning with A or B but this is no easy task
so the full gamut is just fine. I am trying out a little html code for the 1st
time to see if this stuff works and I will try a little more later.
