Hello!! I am reading a book in Spanish and there is this word. I know that la almohada means pillow but in a histocial context this is definitely a wrong translation wink And no dictionary has such an entry like "almohades" I am providing the further context:

"Las tropas cestallanas fueron vencididas por los almohades."

I will appreciate all your suggestions!

Almohade = an Almohad person. Your sentence mean "The Castilian troops were defeated by the Almohad people"

The Almohad Dynasty (from Arabic ???????? al-Muwahhidun, i.e., "the monotheists" or "the Unitarians"), was a Berber, Muslim dynasty that was founded in the 12th century, which conquered all of northern Africa as far as Libya, together with Al-Andalus (Moorish Iberia, now southern Spain and Portugal).

Congrats Srov, Spanish victory over PILLOWS is a great successful accomplishment, especially when you take Spanish warfare and strategy as a point of reference, jeje. - bomberapolaca, Jun 4, 2010
