I find it strange that Spanish does not seem to have a word for frosty.

Frosty implies that the ground has a light covering of white stuff (frozen water crystals)

This does not seem to be implied in the suggestions so far in Spanish.

Me pregunto cuántos más palabras como que hay.

This is the closest word I found for "frosty" or "frost."

The lawn was covered with frost.

El césped apareció cubierto de escarcha.

But not as an adjective. - ian-hill, Apr 11, 2010
No, I couldn't find anything as an adjective. I posted another answer using "helada." - --Mariana--, Apr 11, 2010

Está helado. = It's freezing. It's frosty.

I just found this in another dictionary. So it looks like Chack was right with using the word "helada."

On a frosty morning = una mañana de helada

It was frosty last night = anoche cayó una helada

I would just say "hace muy frío" however i am new to Spanish so wait to see if their is a better answer.

Hacer pertains to weather, or atleast to what i have learned so far. So if someone is asking you something like "How is the weather?". Your response would be; Hace mucho frío aquí. = It is very cold here
