This is a very good question that has garnered lots of response...are we being a little lopsided with votes? Your first vote from me Oskar...Welcome to the forum! - renaerules, Apr 10, 2010

También puede referirse a una ducha Geriatrica, es decir una ducha a la que entras sin que te encuentres obstáculo alguno.Se llaman de obra porque suelo y paredes están forrados de baldosas.alt text

The action of presenting a great amount of someones work.

IE: Una ducha de obra de Lennon y MacCartney...... A publication of all the work of Lennon and MacCartney (All their songs).

Another way to say it in this particular context, but Mexican slang, is, "Un chorro de obra...."

You are joking - aren't you? :) - ian-hill, Apr 10, 2010
My Google search for a ducha de obre by lennon and MacCartney or any other artist(s) found no results. - Moe, Apr 10, 2010
Julian - Have you misunderstood the question.? Could you direct us to someones publication of work as a ducha either online or in a bookshop?? - Moe, Apr 10, 2010
Please review your answer. Your answer stands all on its own and I think people are voting for your reputation without any knowlege of the subject. - Moe, Apr 10, 2010
Of course, I agree with Meli's literal translation. I have put forth an idiomatic translation. Idioms many times can't be found in Google. In any case, this is why it's so important to have context in questions asked. Otherwise, it's just a guessing game. - 005faa61, Apr 10, 2010

A current alternative to the traditional bath is the built in shower. Located between two walls of glass or work (tiles?), it gives your bathroom a modern image. It is called "shower of work" because it requires certain changes in your bathroom, in many cases building an additional partition and changing the floor.

A newish idea is what is called a "wet room" - you can splash around all you want and nothing outside the "wet room" gets wet. - ian-hill, Apr 10, 2010

ducha de obra es cuando estas diceñando tu baño decorandolo cambiando el piso por eso es obra.Engineering shower is when these diceñando your decorandolo by changing the floor so bath is work.

Well, I know that you can say "empaparse con la obra de John Lennon". It is the most similar expression.

He had done a lot of work on the subject, he had learned a lot about the subject

Se había empapado del tema

Yes, now I am who doesn't know what is a "ducha de obra de John Lennon". I think it is a very particular expression. Perhaps someone used that expression but only it is an own expression. I have never heard about it.

Is it about his work or about the shower in his house?

Tenemos duchas y bañeras. Creo que es una combinación de ambos.
