Adding a New Twist to a Spanish Word Game

Adding a New Twist to a Spanish Word Game

31
votes

Inspired by user aloshek, I would like to proprose a new twist to a Spanish word game. Each person will need to modify the previous word with TWO letters. This can be done by replacing two letters, adding two letters, or replacing one letter and adding one letter. Alternatively, you may also remove two letters or remove one letter and replace one letter.

Note: For the purposes of this game, we will allow the letters "n" and "ñ" to be treated as the same letter. This may not be technically correct and may need to be changed in the future, but it will be allowed for now.

Examples:

Current word: Nadar (to swim)

Acceptable change: Nadar --> Pasar (to pass) [Replacement of two letters]

Alternate acceptable change: Nadar --> Nadador (male swimmer) [Addition of two letters]

Alternate acceptable change: Nadar --> Añadir (to add/exaggerate) [Replacement of one letter, Addition of one letter]

As aloshek posted, “answers must be in Spanish and should be followed by what they mean in English.”

Let's start with the word of the day for today (4/9/2010): pegar (to stick/glue/fix/put up)

Before posting your answer, please click on "Newest" and make sure that you are following the post at the very top. Please, also take time to make sure that you are modifying the word using ONLY two letters.
