Infinitive is the normal form of the word such as estar, that is the orginal form of the word, to congiate means to change the word to make it match the subject such as yo estoy. Estoy is the yo form of the verb estar. I'm pretty sure thats right! Hope that helps you!!!!
An infinitive is a verb form with the word "to" in front of it. To run, to jump, to eat, and to fly are examples of infinitives. Conjugating a verb is is putting an infinitive into different forms with the subjects being used. For example we will use the infinitive "to run". We could conjugate the verb by saying I run, you run, he runs, she runs, we run, or they run.
Welcome to the forum "that1grl",
Your question has been well answered and I have nothing to add except that you can find a really good conjugation section in the toolbar under the More heading. You simply supply the Spanish verb you're looking to conjugate. Check it out!!
You can also read about grammatical conjugation here, although it may be a bit confusing if you have no grammar background at all.
Perhaps it would be more helpful for you to see samples of conjugation. You can find verbs conjugated at this site. For example: hablar
And since you are learning Spanish, have a look here at the explanation for Spanish conjugation in Wikipedia, too.
According to the encarta, the verb "conjugate" means:
to state the forms of a verb:
A verb such as "to speak" ("to speak" is the infinitive form in English. The same form, the infinitive form, is "hablar" in Spanish) has forms that vary according to who is doing the speaking, for example, and when.
Encarta thus goes on to say that "to conjugate" means:
to state systematically the different forms a verb has according to tense, mood, person, and number
