Esto/eso? When to use them.

Esto/eso? When to use them.

Hello, I know the meanings of the word but I'm sure I've seen them both used in context. I am mid-essay (which is taking a long time!) and I was unsure of how to use:

"A causa de.... esto/eso" I wanted to say because of this... the object being feminine.

I've never understood how to do this.

Would it be:

"A causa de esto?"

Just wanted to check instead of using a dictionary.

Use "A causa de esto" if "esto" represents a male noun, ie: "A causa del accidente,......."

Use "A causa de esta" if "esta" clearly represents a female noun, ie: A causa de la situación.........."

este is the masculine form Esto and eso are neuter form when your refering to something that doesn´t have gender. - BellaMargarita, Apr 8, 2010

First, esto =this, eso= that. They are pronouns

Now wait for other ideas
