Scientifically, it's particles moving from an area of higher concentration to an area of lower concentration. Example...bacon cooking in the kitchen and you smell it four rooms away. Hope this helps.

Shirley, welcome to the forum. I'm a bit confused about your question. Since this is a Spanish learning site, are you looking for the definition in Spanish or a translation of the word which is diffusion either way. If you're looking for an English definition may I suggest goinghere.
