"Me dio mucho gusto saber de ti" or "Me dio mucho gusto hablar/platicar contigo"

For me, "oir de ti" is more like "heard about you (from someone else)," while "oirte" is for a more literal "hear you" as in "hear your voice".

In a more general sense (English uses "hearing from you" to encompass letters, emails, etc.) Me alegra haber tenido noticias tuyas.
