how do you change the size of your pic before uploading

In addition to what Akgal5 said, if you have already uploaded the picture here and you want to change its size, you can do so by editing the size indicated in the code of the picture that appears when you add it to your message. I am not sure about the computer term for that, but I think that's what is called the URL code.

You would probably just use whatever editing software you have to make it smaller or save it as a smaller file. Some you just click and re-size and then save it.
