Good night:

I´m making a traduction to spanish, but I want to know the equivalent of the expression "earned the acquaintances" in this context:

Employment came through the Crillon hotel in santiago where the bellboy earned the acquaintance of an important american entrepreneur

"Good night" is for saying "farewell" at night.

"Good evening" is for saying "hello" at night.

I don't think "traduction" is a word; it's "translation."

"the bellboy earned the acquaintance" (not a common phrase but OK) is "el botones llegó a conocer a un importante empresario estadounidense."
