Le he dado muchas vueltas a este asunto...clarification
Le he dado muchas vueltas a este asunto...
I have given many turns to this matter, apparent synonym of "Tengo mucho en juego en esto". Why is the le in there? Does it signify "it" like "Le (it) he dado (I have given) muchas vueltas (many turns of thought) a este asunto (to this issue).? So le means it right? Is it necessary here? Gracias.

Having just got in a muddle about indirect and direct object pronouns jeezzle, and trying hard to understand, I think the le here is the indirect object pronoun which must be used for a este asunto ('to this matter' or 'to it)).
I hope I'm right because I think I've almost got it. ![]()

Galsally is correct. It seems redundant but "le" is to whom/what were the turns given...They were given to the issue.
