Equivocar vs. equivocarse

I cannot figure out the difference between equivocar and equivocarse. Could someone please explain the difference?

There are a lot of words that seem to have a pronomial and regular form... and you have to sort of learn which is the more common. With equivocar it's equivocarse.
Te equivocas = you are wrong.

Good answer, Jezzle. You just missed some sort of example with "equivocar" - as in "equivocar el camino" - "lose one's way" or "take the wrong path". - Gekkosan, ABR 2, 2010
