Dear Mellamoryan,

There have been quite a few threads about this subject, here are a few:

What's you're favourite Spanish song

Spanish music suggestions

What Spanish music do you listen to

Spanish music/songs

Spanish songs

Songs are a fun and useful...

My personal favourites are bachata songs since they are slow, romantic songs. Some singers are: Aventura, X-treme, Frank Reyes, Yoskar Sarante, Zacarias Ferreira.

Saludos, Chica

I'd be interested in that too - I've found along the way (as you do on the internet!) Hoy by Gloria Estefan, Ala Nanita sung by the Cheetah Girls, and the Postman Pat song!

Click here Above is my thread about Hoy, it's not really slow but it's beautiful and I've learned it off by heart now. :D

Oh, and there is a song on loMasTv, which is quite slow and easy to understand, called Fotografía.

Feed us more songs please!!

Speaking of nelly, try the song fotografia by her and juanes, is very clear spanish. Try julieta venegas also, she's fairly clear speaking and fun to sing with.

Listening to Julieta's new "Otra Cosa" album while reading this! Was hoping she would come to Europe this year but it looks like that's not going to happen :-( - Jespa, Apr 2, 2010

I asked someone a similar question once and they told me to try a song called Una Palabra by Carlos Varela. I listened to it and it is easy to make out the words.

I would recommend Luis Miguel, he sings clearly and he has a beautiful voice and his songs are great. Franco de Vita is really good too.

I love Luis Miguel. - --Mariana--, Apr 2, 2010
Luis Miguel's songs are very romantic and he sings great! He also has a few upbeat songs. - 00e46f15, Apr 2, 2010
I would probably buy the older cd's: Amarte es un placer, Aries. He also has a collection called Romances where he sings old songs from the 40's , 50's, etc. They are called boleros. Very nice! - 00e46f15, Apr 2, 2010
Thanks for the recommendations. :-) - --Mariana--, Apr 2, 2010

I highly recommend Eddie Santiago. The music is awesome and the lyrics are easily accesible. Translating the lyrics from spanish to english is a great way to learn spanish not only literally but meaningfully.

Nelly Furtado's latest CD "Mi Plan" is all Spanish and could be a good candidate; she sings quite clearly.

You probably do this already, but I Google for lyrics of songs I like and download them. I often find 'difficult' bits aren't difficult at all then! I just can't make out the words from the song itself, but once I know what is being sung it all falls into place.

Does your city have a Spanish language radio station? Seattle has two that are great for listening practice.

If you have a Napster subscription, they have quite a huge Spanish language music section.
