Question regarding the word "live"

How would one say "live" in Spanish, as in a store selling fresh live lobsters? That is all I really want to know, but I suppose I should clarify in order to eliminate any potential misunderstandings. I am looking for a translation for the word "live" as an adjective, not as a verb or adverb.

What I am looking for:

"Sometimes live animals make bad gifts".

What I am not looking for:

"I live with two roommates.", "I saw that band live at Madison Square Garden." or "I live on meat and potatoes."
