Did I understand this correctly?

Did I understand this correctly?

Un amigo me preguntó: "¿Quieres que te cuente un chiste colorado y sucio?", nerviosamente le dije: "... bueno...". Me contó "Caperucita roja tirada en un charco de lodo".

Quiero asegurarme que yo lo entendí bien.

Si me puedan ayudar a asegurar que lo entiendo bien estaré agradecido.

A friend asked me: "Do you want me to tell you a dirty joke? Nervously I told him: "... ok...". He told me "Little Red Riding Hood thrown in a puddle of mud".

I want to make sure that I understood him correctly.

If you can help me to make sure that I understand correctly I will be grateful.

Yes, you did. The joke is more in the setup though, which involves some word play. Your friend said he would tell you a joke that was not only "sucio" (dirty), but "colorado," which at first, in this context seems to mean "off-color" or "risqué." Literally, though, the word means "red" or "red-colored." In this case, it was literally a joke involving the color red and some dirt. I don't think I've ever heard that one. I like it. :D
