Comment from a very thankful new student
First of all I hope I am doing this properly and in the right category as I am pretty new here. I have been focused on the lessons up to this point so this is my first time in the community area. After taking some lessons I fell head over heels in love with this site, I truly can't believe what Spanishdict has done for me in only one month. The shocking part wasn't only how effective the lessons were for me, it's that how fun every second of it has been.
Now it's time to take the next step so I have looked over the community here to get a feel for the kind of people that are here and how things work and what do I find? I find not the typical internet chat that I was expecting but very nice people being nice to each other, helping each other and showing true caring. I give everyone that is a part of Spanishdict the biggest compliment I can give and that is I would feel totally comfortable and worry free about my kids or dear sweet mom being here. I look forward to meeting and getting to know everyone and I promise to do my part to always be a positive member here.
In closing with all my heart I want to thank those that obviously worked very hard to make this site what it is, you are my heroes, the effectiveness of the lessons in only one short month hasn't just been good or acceptable, for me it's been life changing and you even made it free, just wow.
To Paralee, I had some pretty good teachers over the course of my life but you have taken the very top spot, not only my favorite teacher ever but also the very best ever, I am so proud to be your student, thank you so much for all you do here.
Also to the moderators, I don't know all your names yet but I have seen your contributions and again as with all other components of this site you all amaze me, you don't just do a good job, you do an amazing job.
How good has all this been? Spanishdict is in my sleep

Very well written post krashy! I love this site as well, and this forum in particular, is great!
This forum gives a person the ability to express themselves freely without fear of ridicule.
You will find that any question you may have about Spanish, will be answered here.
I am very busy, and sometimes I am on at 7 to 8 AM, and sometimes 1 to 2 AM, and occasionally in the afternoon, and there is always someone around to give advice.
You can also use the Search window on the far right to find a lot of things.
Here is a tip: When you ask a question, make sure that you put it into the correct category.
When you ask a question, just put in the subject (Don't use Capital letters except for the first word), then select the Category by using the down arrow in the next box, then just type in your question/s.

I can't tell you how much your message means to me. As a teacher it is just the biggest compliment to hear how a student is actually having fun while learning. We have really tried to make this site into the best learning resource on the internet, and not just the best free resource.
I think you will love our forum and community members even more than the lessons. The forum admins (Heidi and Eddy) and the phrasebook admins (Mountaingirl123, Carlos-F, and Guillermo2) are just the best and always ready to lend a helping hand. I can't say enough good things about Issabela, Nicole-Bailey, QFreed, CalvoViejo, Marianne-, Goyo, Benz, Samdie, lzanoni1, Natasha, nizoni1, and the thousands and thousands of other members that make this community so awesome.
I am so proud to be a part of this community and to work for such wonderful people.

Well they do say "The best things in life are free" and to me the resources of this site, together with Paralee's lessons are nothing short of amazing.
I have a habit of "rabbiting on" about spanishdict in my workplace and now one of my workmates has decided that she wants to "investigate" the site with the possibility of learning Spanish - perhaps I've brainwashed her...I'll let you know.

Your words are very kind! I totally agree that this is an excellent site for people of all ages and backgrounds. Once you are here a bit longer, you will see that people truly care here. When someone hasn't been around for awhile, members are concerned. When our friend Carlos wasn't heard from for days following the earthquake in Chile, Heidi (administrator) went out of her way to try to locate him. We care when there is a loved one who is sick and for many more things. It won't take long until you experience this for yourself.
Besides all of this...we also help each other to learn and to improve our Spanish/English. We are happy to have you join us in all of the fun!!

What a nice note, and I must say I agree with you totally. Some days I spend a couple of hours here, some times there are lapses of up to a week when real life intrudes and I cannot come for a visit. But I LOVE SpanishaDdict!

I completely agree. Looking at the date of your post, I see that I actually arrived at SpanishD the very day after this post was written. I am also very much addicted and have a jealous wife who probably wishes I wasn't so addicted! :-p
The format of this site, along with all its tools and features, including the excellent video lessons taught by Paralee, are absolutely amazing. It is even more incredible that this is offered to everyone without cost! I am one of the many very grateful, completely addicted, SD loving members! :-D

Hola Krashi, you said it well man. This site es la familia. Not sure if you have tried the Chat room yet, under the More tab but it's nice too. Oh and there is an online realtime chat on Skype on Saturdays. My 1st time on wil be next Sat. I look forward to it thought I'm not sure how many words I'll be able to stick in
