How to maintain knowledge you've got after each course?

Hola dear users! I'm using this forum not so long time and I'm wondering if there are any tests or conclusive tasks after each course. If there are not, maybe you could advise me how better to maintain knowledge you gained after each course?

thank you a lot for your answers! I will use it for sure!!! Also I guess you've heard there is opportunity (speaking abt reading) to improve your language with Frank's books (If I'm not mistaken it is called Frank's method), there is unusual approach to the text and way of memorizing words! Wish you good luck as well!!!

I like to take notes as I am going through the videos, for some people writing things down can help you to remember, even if you never read back through your notes.

There is usually flashcards related to every video topic also, (but be careful because some user flashcards are inaccurate). Add any good sets to your favorites so you can retry them regularily.

Go back through the videos every once and a while also, if you want, download them to your ipod and next time your waiting for a bus, etc, watch them again.

Try apply your knowledge in different ways, read articles in the reference section or reading anything at all in the language your learning really, listening to music in the language you are learning is good too. Try songs that are available in english and spanish so you will have some idea of what is being said (Beyonce and Shakira both have translated some of their songs-search youtube). Try buying books in the language you are learning. There are these books called parrallel texts available on Amazon.co.uk. These have the Spanish on one side of the page and the English on the other so they can be very helpful to practice what you know and also expand your vocabulary further.

Hope this helps. grin

In the blue bar across the top, click on More, then click on Reference. The topics you study in the lessons can be found there and they include some short exercises. You can also do a search for other similar exercises on the internet. That's a start.

There are also users that post questions and games that provide us with the opportunity to practice what we are learning.

You could also try keeping a journal, reading books or newspapers, and of course watching television and movies.

Buena suerte!
