Well, breaking it down....mientras means while but "mientras tanto" means "meanwhile". "Apuesto" means "dashing" or "good looking" but I rarely hear it that way, more common is "apostar" to bet...apuesto = I bet....Therefore it looks to me like: Meanwhile, I bet everything to know.... I'm not sure about por instead of para there though. Don't know what that's about.

mientras tanto = while all that (literally) = meanwhile. reminds me of por tanto (for all that = therefore) - webdunce, Mar 29, 2010

The phrase in question is from the song Bien o Mal by Julieta Venegas. "Mientras tanto apuesto todo por saber." She uses "por" in terms of exchange. She would bet everything in exchange for knowing. See the rest of the song lyrics for the full context.

Algounico, I just want to let you know that the word "apuesto" in Spanish also means handsome, it is synonymous of "guapo", "buen mozo" y "bien parecido".

Could it be the first person singular of apostar? (apostar por = to bet on)
