las valadas romanticas

A new friend told me her favorite music is "las valadas romanticas", is that a genre of music or a specific band? And did she misspell valadas and mean baladas? From what I can tell it's a type of genre, but I wanted to be sure. Anyone familiar with that?

In spanish the V is very similar to the B sound, so they are confused by native speakers often.

I'm a fan of "baladas románticas too", yes, it's a type of genre within the wide variety of Spanish music.
