A transitive verb is an action verb used with a direct object.
Lets say socorrer means to aid.
Ella socorró elllo.
She helped him.
This is an example of when it is a transitive verb.
Versus an intransitive verb which has no direct object.
I can't think of one in spanish right now but in English "we arrived there" is an example.
