If you look on the translation/traducción tab you will see that the translations are from Google, Yahoo (Babel Fish) or Free Translations.
As for why Google is here, as with most software/services, I suppose that Google gave the most bang for the buck.

Google is one of three translators that we use on our translate page. It's my understanding that they are the three best available.
