I am creating a presentation about marine animals and I don't know how to say the range/distribution of an animal. For example, the range/distribution of Magellanic Penguins is around the southern tip of South America.

How about: "rango de distribución" / "área de distribución"

You might also try:
• La distribución actual/geográfica del pingüino de Magallanes cubre zonas/áreas del extremo sur de Sudamérica
• El pingüino de Magallanes está distribuido por zonas del extremo sur de Sudamérica
• El pingüino de Magallanes tiene su centro de distribución en el (área más) sur de Sudamérica
