So this is "¿No me puedas ayudar?" isn't that right? Also what about "¿No me ayudes?" and lastly what of "¡Que no me ayudes!" and what about "No me ayudes, por favor"....

¿No me ayudes?" "Don't help me?" (Doesn't really work as a question)

"¡Que no me ayudes!" - "(I said) don't help me!"

"No me ayudes, por favor".... "Please don't help me"

The second one is a fascinating construction that merits further review. Why would Que mean I said.... - jeezzle, Mar 23, 2010
It's added for emphasis, and it *implies* the "Dije que" - "I said that" - Gekkosan, Mar 23, 2010

Is it puedes or puedas....it seems like it would be subjunctive....but I don't know... - jeezzle, Mar 23, 2010
So I believe we settled it's "puedes", then. - Gekkosan, Mar 23, 2010

So, it's the same meaning as "You can't help me?"

Is there no such distinction in Spanish?

Sorry - I don't quite understand your question. What exactly do you wish to know? - Gekkosan, Mar 23, 2010
I would think the distinction lies in the form of poder, hences puedas vs puedes but I've gotten two different answers. My thought was: No me puedes = you can't help me....no me puedas = can't you help me...but I guess we'll see. - jeezzle, Mar 23, 2010
I think I see. You *can't* say "no me puedas ayudar" unless it's a question form: "¿serà posible que no me puedas ayudar?" - Gekkosan, Mar 23, 2010
