Recorder on speech practice pages does not work
I can't get the recorder on any of the speech practice pages in the lesson to work.
My microphone is set up, and I have verified that it is working. I have several recorders installed on my computer. The Microsoft voice recorder that came wtih the system exists in my Windows or System 32 folder, but cannot be accessed from Start/ Programs/ Accessories, and it also is not available as an option to install as a Windows component under either accessories or entertainment. I am using Windows XP Pro. It does work when you find and click on it, and I actually located the backup file in my Windows backup folder and expanded it to more places, like my desktop.
I have java installed and working.
On the speech practice pages, it shows the three controls - record, play, and something else - but when I click on record nothing whatever happens, and when I click on play nothing whatever happens; the appearance of the buttoms doesn't even change to indicate that I clicked on them.

Same for me, I gave up with it and I just say it unrecorded and then check the answer anyway.
Thank you for caring. The owners of this site evidently do not. In several days, noone else has answered. I sent a complaint to support and they've not answered that either, and there's no other way to contact them. All I ever see the forum owners say in this board is a coldly worked your spelling and grammar must always be perfect, no matter what you ask - and then they never answer the question you asked.
Too bad. The language learning feature is nice. Or has the potential to be nice when they ever care enough to get it fully functional.
