The word Ustedes simply means YOU when referring to more than one person in a siuation requiring the formal approach for example to older neighbours or to people not known well to you or those in office.
To say YOU ALL is the common way teachers try to help you to understand that it is a plural but it doesn't mean YOU ALL. - simply YOU.
eg Ustedes tienen una casa muy bonita. ¿Cómo están ustedes? Yo quisiera pasar un rato con ustedes.
Ustedes is the polite version of "You" plural.
Usted in a shortened form of Vuestra Merced.
Appellation of civility, with which untitled persons are addressed. (f)
* Vuestra or vuesa merced -> your honor, your worship, sir
Interesting note from our dictionary:
VOSOTROS In Spain, there are two ways to express the second person plural: one implies familiarity with the audience (vosotros) while the other indicates more courtesy (ustedes). Vosotros takes the verb in the second person plural, and ustedes the third person plural. This double option does not exist in Latin America, where the only form available is ustedes, except in the religious liturgy, where vosotros is sometimes retained.
Ustedes means-you all (formal). It is a personal pronoun. Here's the reference article on personal pronouns.
E.g. (Ustedes) van al cine.-You all go to the cinema.
(Ustedes) comen pizza.-You all eat pizza.
Ustedes = you all. Ustedes pueden traerme un sándwich. You all can bring me a sandwich.
