What could "el buson" mean?

I'm translating an email sent to me from a friend, but I can't figure out what he means when he uses "el buson". Since I can't find it anywhere I'm thinking it may be a spelling error, but I'm not sure. My friend is Dominican if this helps. Any suggestions? Here is the context of the email:

...me interesa hablar contigo a ver como ke ayudas a buscar una camara barata para comprar y darte el buson mio pa q me la ponga y ...

Es el buzón y significa mailbox, donde dejan las cartas para que se las lleven

When I first got to Colombia and called people, I couldn't understand why the answering machine said "buscando mensajes". After several weeks (and after my ear got more attuned to hearing Spanish), I realized the it was saying "Buzón de mensajes" or "message box". LOL
