Can you say this instead of "acostumbro a....." to mean I'm used to it?

Checking to see if acostumbrar includes the word "to" I'm to used TO it or not.

Hey, Jeezle, I think this would mean that I got someone else used to it...such as: "Lo acostumbré a tender la cama diariamente" - I got him used to making the bed daily .

"Estoy acostumbrado a..." is what I've heard around these here parts! But, as you and I have discussed before, there are lots of different ways of saying things, depending on region.

I'll be waiting to see what other people say..

I've heard "me acostumbré"

Me acostumbré a despertarme temprano - I got used to waking up early.

I was waiting for a response to this post.

My problem is that the whole idea of this verb "acostumbrar" ever being in the "preterit tense" is confusing to me.

Does anyone have a example of "acostumbrar" in the "preterit tense".
