Subjunctive Clarifier

Subjunctive Clarifier

I'm just learning the subjunctive and my textbook gives the phrase "Quiere que cante" (He wants me to sing). To me this seems very vague because 'cante' in the subjunctive could also refer to you, him, or her. As a clarifier, would it be appropriate to say "El quiere que yo cante" or would it be "El quiere que me cante"? Thanks for the help!

You would use "yo" because it's the subject of the dependent or subjunctive clause.

"Él quiere que yo cante."

You would not need either of the pronouns unless there were some confusion about the sentence.
