Firstly, what is the best/most common way to say "mobile phone" in Spanish? Also, what is the plural? Is "Los moviles celulares" correct?

I think that the shortened phrases have already be adopted.
Los móviles
los celulares
el teléfono móvil
el teléfono celular

Mainly I agree with Qfreed:
Los móviles
los celulares
el [teléfono] móvil
el [teléfono] celular
If someone didn't know what you were talking about, you could literally say "Teléfonos móviles." At least, that's what I think would be the most common.
