Subjunctive or not?

Subjunctive or not?

how do you say " hopefully this would prevent a lot of people from using this drug but i doubt it will stop everyone" in Spanish? I can't translate the sentence.

I know you use the subjunctive after "espero", but is that the best choice of word for "hopefully"? Also how do you say "would"? or does the subjunctive tense mean that you do not need to use the word "would" in Spanish?

any help would be appreciated

"would prevent" is simply the future subjunctive (of "will prevent") in English. We do it with an auxiliary/modal verb ("would") + "prevent", they do it with an inflected form of the verb.
