How would I say "go fishing" in spanish?
Please help me make sense of this! If "pescado" is fish, than should I say "pez" for a plural, or would that be "los pescados"? How would I tell someone "I'm going fishing"?

Pescado: it is when the fish is out of water . Also, when you refer to one fish out of water it is Pescado otherwise it would be Pescados ( many fishes) out of water.
Pez: It is when the fish is in water.
Pez : One fish . (singular) Peces: many fishes (plural)
Pescar: To fish (Verb)
There is a rule in spanish to form the plural of words ending on Z. It changes Z by C and add es. Example: Maíz (singular) Maíces ( plural) , Pez (singular) Peces (plural)
Hope it helps
fish = el pez or el pescado
fishes = los peces or los pescados
to fish = pescar
But there is a subtle difference in Spanish between "pez" and "pescado"...
Pez: the animal in his natural or artifical habitat.
Pescado, it is when it is fished (it is not necessary to be on the dish for to be "pescado"
Pescar is 'to fish' ![]()
Yo voy a pescar.
