What does corta mean here?

I am going through an exercise material and at the end we are supposed to evaluate if the material is: facil, dificil, util, or corta. I know the first 3 mean easy, difficult, useful - but I am not sure what corta means. Is that from "cortar", meaning "to cut"? If so, how is that related to facil, dificil, and util?

First of all, facil means easy. Dificil means hard. And though I am not sure what util is, it would not make any sense for it to be easy, maybe it means long. - snowhite2705, Mar 12, 2010

OK, that sounds rather right. But would you know why it is given the feminine form instead of using corto? - Rikko, Mar 12, 2010
Corta is an adjective and it depends the gender of the noun is refering to be femenin or masculin. I.e. "La pregunta es corta" "El ejercicio es corto" - Zizoun, Mar 12, 2010

I would guess that it means insufficient in the sense that it is too short (curt) and doesn't provide enough explanation or present a clear meaning.

It's quarter hard?

Do you mean like it's 25% difficult? I think we say "half as hard", but quarter is rather unusual to me. Is that more like a Spanish idiom? - Rikko, Mar 12, 2010
