Si sirve.......

I think "no me sirve" means it doesn't do any good to me, or "no sirve" means the same, or "no me sirve para nada" means it's just no good at all etc... So what could "Si sirve" mean? It works? It does good? I'm gonna go with it works, or it does well until someone corrects me. thanks. The tv wouldn't turn on, then it did, and the boy yelled out "Si sirve!". Also seen on the web, "Activar Windows XP (Este si sirve). I think it means this serial number works, so I think it means "it works".

If someone puts the tv on, and it works we say ¡Funciona!.

Servir is the verb serve.

So in some way, everything that can be changed by "serve" have the meanning of "si sirve".

For example, someone is going to throw something in the garbage and that can have an use for me, then I shout "¡Hey, eso me sirve!" is like saying "that serves me", with the meanning of that has a value or that can have a profit or benefit.

Another example with your question,

"Esto sirve, esto no sirve" - "This has an use, this doesnt"

Hope I cleared it out a bit
