How to say "Sally was in the Navy"
"Sally was in the Navy"= "Sally era en el marino"?
Sally era una marinero.
Sally was a sailor.
I think marinera (adjective) means "marine" as in a marine animal and that the noun (marinero) is invariant. Who knows? They weren't female sailors when the RAE tossed a coin to make marinero masculine.
