here is the question... Al entrar en la sociedad, qué tal le pareció al primo?
The 'tal' is throwing me off. can you help translate? thanks!

If you look in our dictionary "qué tal" can simply mean "how". The reason that the sentence may be hard to translate is I don't think that we know the subject which was probably named in previous context.
Upon entering into society, how did [it/he/she] seem to the cousin?
You seem to be missing a ¿ before the qué.
