Como que = How come?

I know it's supposed to mean something like "How is it possible that" but wouldn't it work as "How come?". Como que yo primero? How come me first? (when a bunch of people have to enter a scary house....direct line from tv show)

" Come" is a verb of movement, therefore it would not translate in the sentence used , it would have to be , - "how is it that". How come is a colloquial expression which is not correct , but because of usage has become accepted. I think it maybe used more in American English than other English speaking countries. I have tried it here and find that we would say -'how is that " or "how does that work" 'Why is that"?

The idiom "How come" does not indicate movement. It is a more current way of saying "How is that". My suggestion was that "Como que" could mean "How is that" but forwarded to be more current like the idiom "How come" which is a perfectly acceptable idiom. - jeezzle, Mar 11, 2010
