Can "He comprado" also mean "I have been buying"? If not then what tense would that be? Also is " He comprado" called El preterito perfecto compuesto in spanish? What tense is Preterito Perfecto Simple?

He comprado = I have bought. He estado comprando = I have been buying

He comprado is -present- perfect. You're saying I HAVE bought, in the present tense, referring to the past. Preterito is synonymous with past tense. Past perfect would be speaking in the perfect tense (have/haber + verb) in the past.

I had just woken up, when I saw what the dog had left on the carpet.
