what does "cara" means in this song?
Could someone tell me how to translate cara in this context: ... que al mal tiempo buena cara, y todo pasa. Found it in Celia's Cruz song, and although I understand what the whole sentence means, I'm confused about the word cara. I know it means a face literally, but maybe it is an expresion I'm not familiar with?

"Cara" means face, but in that song "cara" is part of a popular saying "Al mal tiempo buena cara" (Literally "Keep a good face in the bad weather"). It means something like 'keep positive even though the circumstances are not".
I hope you find this useful.
Un saludo.
al mal tiempo buena cara, y todo pasa
This just means to remain optimistic in tough times. It is similar to some of these expressions/sayings:
Keep your chin up, kiddo
Keep a stiff upper lip
Look on the bright side
When life deals you lemons make lemonade
Tough times don't last, tough people do
Turn obstacles into opportunities
• Every dark cloud has a silver lining
When everything seems to be going against you remember that an airplane takes off against the wind, not with it.
For I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. -Phil. 4:11
I would say that buena cara means good face. In other words, you don't show that bad things are happening to you. It is what you are presenting for other people to see. That is my guess though. I am not familiar with the song.
