Hi! The writer is talking about his pen and I think he wants to say that he can't compare it to anything else? Any other suggestions?

Me da la gana I believe is "I feel like it". So it should be something like, I won't compare it, I don't feel like it. I think you're probably right, for whatever reason he doesn't want to compare it.
