saber is to know information or how to do something, and conocer in to know a person or place

Basically, "Saber" is to know a fact. "Conocer" is to know a person or a place. I have located a resource that will help.
You may know this already (but i will tell you just in case), these two verbs are irregular. So watch out when conjugating them!

Conocer means more like, to be acquainted with a person or familiar with a place. To meet.
Saber is to know in the more usual sense.
