The only common thing they have: they are always nouns.

Here is a list of words ending in -ción if you want to look for commonality. Other than they are all feminine nouns I don't know what it would be. One site said that -ción was a cognate for -tion so you might wish to research -tion in Latin or Greek.

The sufix -ción is the same as the sufix -tion in English, they have the same meaning, like qfreed explained very good.

I took a look at the Greek and Latin prefix and sufix and I didn't find any especial meaning for the sufix you are asking. Anyway, feel free to take a look wink
