budi alen? ... I gotta work on my b/v some more.

I like how Tom Hanks has more people searching for Ton Jans than Tom Hanks.

b/v ? - patch, Mar 5, 2010
B and V represent the same two sound in Spanish - hard B and soft B. Hard B is pretty much like B in English. Soft B has no counter part in English. They say it is like a B but your lips don't touch -- whatever that means. - webdunce, Mar 5, 2010
I'm assuming it is the soft B sound they intended in the misspelling of Woody Allan's name (budi alen). - webdunce, Mar 5, 2010
I see - patch, Mar 5, 2010
The W is often pronounced the like the b/v because its foriegn. - BellaMargarita, Mar 7, 2010
W is pronounced G in Spanish... example guisqui for whisky or gualter for Walter... Woody should be gudy... not budy - Benz, Mar 7, 2010

One of the people I practice with asked me if it would bother if someone called me "Magui"(for Maggie) after seeing that I would not be surprised. LOL

estiven espilber

That reminds me of the time that I had a Colombian girlfriend. Her mother always added an extra syllable to my name. Stuart became "estuart."

Our instructor in Oaxaca was telling us about the difficulty with words starting with "s" when he was talking about Carlos (e)Slim, so I especially like estiven espilber LOL I can "hear" it being pronounced.

"guil esmit" is definitely my favourite!

By the way - I just found out that I don't know how to spell "definitely" confused so maybe I shouldn't laugh too hard

Thanks Heidita
