For those interested in improving their ability to "listen" and "speak" the Spanish language, I have found an excellent site. I first introduced this couple through a "video of the day" about a month or so ago. I have heard from some of you who have continued on with these lessons and love them. So I thought I would post the information again for anyone who was interested.

Luis and Joan Rojas are a couple who have decided to offer free, ten minute Spanish learning videos every day for the year 2010. They avoid grammar lessons and rules, focusing on the "sound" and "music" of the language instead. Their approach is similar to the way we learn language as children. What I have found helpful is that they discuss the mental and emotional challenges of learning Spanish. Luis is from Peru and Joan is from the U.S. They tease each other a bit throughout the videos, pointing out the common mistakes that we all make.

If you decide to try these videos, avoid the temptation to skip through information you already know. I have found that even material I am familiar with is taught in a way that helps me to "listen" better.

I hope you find these lessons as helpful as I have! smile lacasarojas

I just watched the first lesson and it seems like it is going to be a great resource to add to Paralee's lessons. Thank you!
