I am so happy....I got his personal message this morning, I was really getting out of ideas to find him and I am so glad nothing has happened to him![]()
With his permission, I am reproducing his mail here:
Hola Heidita,
Saludos
Carlos F.

):
Carlos is fine and with his family, electricity was down and he could not get in touch.
bolded:
Please tell all friends from Spanishdict. I am very grateful as I am sure they have asked for me.
As we say : a very heavy weight off my heart and mind![]()
Carlos: te queremos
Update: I would like to express my special thanks to **zenejero , Benz and blackbull,** who went far out of their way to find Carlos' complete name, company etc (Benz is a genius
), made countless phone calls, posted on *freakin*
facebook and everywhere in search for Carlos. Especially zenejero and blackbull having all those terrible problems themselves, did all they could and more to help, I am very grateful.
I got this from **zenejero** today:
gracias por tu mensaje... lamentablemente donde estoy no hemos tenido teléfono ni luz eléctrica por un par de días, y pese a que estuve tratando de llamar a la compañía de carlos no me contestaban.. y recién a las 8:30 de hoy nos dieron electricidad nuevamente.
siento que no hice mucho, que podría haber sido más, pero ya lo había puesto en todas las redes sociales como facebook, twitter, en el diario e incluso llamé a dos radios en santiago en cuanto pude.... avisaré que ya apareció.
And this message from Blackbull, who said this when I told him Carlos was fine:
Gracias por al buena nueva, gracias a dios estaban bien...Gracias por permitidme ayudar abrazos!

¡Qué alivio leer estas noticias tan buenas! No tengo las palabras en español ni inglés para expresarme pero te juro es ¡¡muy muy pero muy bien!!
Thank you Heidita, I too was very worried. We always counted on Carlos for accurate and (if you will allow me) down to Earth comments. I feel a weight was lifted from me. Of course our hearts still go out to all in Chile and Haiti. Just being without electricity can be a real pain. Not to mention water shortages, etc.
Thank you very much Heidita for the good news and especially for keeping us informed throughout those past few days.
Thanks for the update, Heidita! I'm so glad he´s OK.
¡Gracias a Dios!
Y gracias a Heidita tambien para tan gran esfuerzo para contactar Carlos.
It is so cool that everyone here cares so much for each other. We're like a big family
Thanks Heidita for caring and for sharing with us so that we could know the good news
And Carlos, we're very glad your ok!
Glad you're okay, Carlos!
I'm also very impressed with how much everyone on this site cares for each other- it's amazing and it makes me that much more happier that I am apart of SpanishDict. Thanks for the update Heidita!
It was a wonderful surprise when I woke up the other day and Alrisa showed me this thread...At least my hope that it was just no electricity was right
. A weight has been lifted and I'm very happy he is fine...
I'm looking forward to have him around in SpanishDict again cause that will mean the situation is half fixed over there... Must be very hard after such a tragedy...
Just in case you have not seen this thread.....![]()
Halleluiah!
I was so worried about him!!! My prayers are still with the people of Chile and Haiti, as this will be a long recovery.
I
I'm glad to hear that you are ok, Carlos!
You translated, Heidita

...and I was pleased to find that I had been able to read it. But I was yet more thrilled by the news I read. Wonderful words in any language! Now we will begin look forward to hearing from Carlos directly here on the forum
I agree with h1deaway that you folks are pretty amazing. I've kept up with the Carlos threads as he is one of the few that I've PM'd in the short time that I've been coming to the forum and I, too, am quite relieved to hear that he is well. The outpouring of love and kindness coming from so many to someone who they have probably never met and the work that some of you have put into locating him is touching.
I think I have looked at this thread about 50 times. I hadn't previously posted, because it just doesn't seem right to say in English those things I want to say, but I am certain that my ability to express myself in Spanish would not do any justice in conveying the absolute awe I feel when I read this thread.
Carlos, estoy muy alegre que están bien. Gracias a Dios. I look forward to your return to the forum.
I find myself awestruck by the level of concern and care expressed by so many people here in the forum. The efforts of those who spent their time researching, calling, posting, and emailing is actually quite touching when you consider the possibility that they probably have never even met Carlos.
Bendiciones a todos.
Do you think this post is too long? I said I was awestruck, not dumbstruck or speechless.
