¿Fallarse- To Let Oneself Down?

Leí en el diccionario que fallarse significa morir. También, leí que "to let oneself down" significa fallar a alguien. Por eso, ¿fallarse puede significa morir y "to let oneself down?" Si no, ¿pueden decirme como se dice "to let oneself down" en español?

Muchas gracias,

Kerri

fallarse significa morir

Close, but the word you are probably thinking of is fallecer. smile Fallar means to fail, so that is verb you could use to say "let someone down".

My friend has has never let me down (or "failed me"). - Mi amigo nunca me ha fallado.

And also:

He did not disappoint me (or "let me down"). - Él no me decepcionó.

But I believe your question was about 'letting oneself down'. So I think it would be:

I let myself down. - Me fallé. ("I failed myself.") Or Me decepcioné. ("I disappointed myself.")

What if you were talking about an automobile that 'died' while you were driving it? Wouldn't you then use fallar?
