Learning Style Challenge:explain who you are in two languages
I have a challenge for us all at SpanishDict that will not only improve our Spanish skills, but also help us to understand our learning style.
I think if we can explain who we are in two languages it will give us insight into understanding where we fit in this world and even how we can best use our language skills.
So this is the challenge:
Read the description of the four personality choices below. (taken from Wikipedia) These personality traits originate from ancient writings and were first called "the four humors".
Choose the one you think most describes you.
Write a response based on this decision. ( You can get as creative as you want: You can discuss how you react to things, how you learn, how it affects your relationships, or any other facets of life. You can even discuss why you don't know who you are. You can tell a story about when your personality got you into trouble.)
There are three rules:
- It needs to be in Spanish and English (no matter how long or short).
- Take it easy on the moderators and resist the urge to include your whole life story!
- Use it as a teaching tool for yourself by being honest (this can be very hard to do)
The Four Temperaments:
Sanguine
**Optimista**
The Sanguine temperament personality is fairly extroverted. People of a sanguine temperament tend to enjoy social gatherings and making new friends. They tend to be creative and often day dream. However, some alone time is crucial for those of this temperament. Sanguine can also mean very sensitive, compassionate and thoughtful. Sanguine personalities generally struggle with following tasks all the way through, are chronically late, and tend to be forgetful and sometimes a little sarcastic. Often, when pursuing a new hobby, interest is lost quickly--when it ceases to be engaging or fun.
Choleric
**Emprendedor**
A person who is choleric is a doer. They have a lot of ambition, energy, and passion, and try to instill it in others. They can dominate people of other temperaments, especially phlegmatic types. Many great charismatic military and political figures were cholerics.
Melancholic
**Melancólico**
A person who is a thoughtful ponderer has a melancholic disposition. Often very kind and considerate, melancholics can be highly creative – as in poetry and art - and can become occupied with the tragedy and cruelty in the world. A melancholic is also often a perfectionist. They are often self-reliant and independent.
Phlegmatic
**Flemático**
Phlegmatics tend to be self-content and kind. They can be very accepting and affectionate. They may be very receptive and shy and often prefer stability to uncertainty and change. They are very consistent, relaxed, rational, curious, and observant, making them good administrators and diplomats. Unlike the Sanguine personality, they may be more dependable.

I think that I am a mix between Phlegmatic and Sanguine. (if that is possible!) But, I hate it when I have to decide things like this, because I don't like making decisions! (is there a category for indecision?)
Pienso que soy una mezcla entre Flemático y Optimista . (¡si eso es posible!) Pero, lo odio cuando tengo que decidir cosas asi, ¡porque no me gusta tomar decisiones! (¿existe una categoría de indecisión?)

Pues, se ve que soy una melancólica aunque la mayoría del tiempo estoy alegre. Soy muy creativa y me gusta dibujar, pintar, tocar la guitarra, cantar y escribir canciones y poesía. Me preocupan las problemas y injusticias del mundo. Por supuesto soy perfeccionista y muy pero muy independiente.
Well, it looks like I'm a Melancholic even though most of the time I'm happy. I'm very creative and I like to draw, paint, play the guitar, sing and write songs and poetry. The problems and injustices of the world worry me. I'm certainly a perfectionist and very, very independent.

The ones that fit me are melancholic and phlegmatic. No doubt.
I am highly creative, you only have to see what I do with my tyoing...I mean if that is not creative...what is? 
And phlegmatic, yeah, that's me, shy and relaxed.Great!

Estoy melancólico, pero con una pizca o dos del flemático, cuando no me siento tan mal por todo o que tengo una menta sana. He luchado contra la depresión durante años, y tuve un colapso nervioso de un par de años atrás, así que cada día tengo que recordarme a mí mismo que, a pesar de todo lo que es cruel y terrible en el mundo, hay algo de belleza aquí. Recuerdo que a través de la ayuda de mi esposo, mi madre y mi mejor amigo. Estoy tratando de perder poco a poco mi necesidad de perfeccionismo. I am melancholic, but with a pinch or two of the phlegmatic when I’m not feeling so bad about everything or I’ve got my head together. I’ve struggled with depression for years, and I had a nervous breakdown a couple of years ago, so every day I need to remind myself that, despite all that is cruel and awful in the world, there is some beauty here. I remember that through the help of my husband, my mother, and my best friend. I’m slowly trying to lose my need for perfectionism. I know I’m not quite as self reliant as I was when I was younger (I traveled through Europe on my own), but I also know that I can rely on others when I need help, and that is a comfort.

Principalmente, creo que soy una 'Optimista', pero semejante a 'yesero', en algunos aspectos soy 'Melancólica'. Casi siempre llego a tiempo, y termino lo que he empezado. Soy muy autosuficiente e independiente. Soy otra 'Aries'!
For the most part, I think I'm an 'Optimista', but like 'yesero', in some ways I'm a 'Melancólica'. I'm almost always on time and I finish what I've started. I'm very independent and self-reliant. I'm another 'Aries'!
Soy optimista completamente. Tengo tanta pasión en cada cosa que hago que algunas veces olvido todas las otras cosas alrededor de mí. I am a complete sanguine. I have so much passion in everything that I do that sometimes I forget the other things around me. Yes, it is really easy for me to enjoy life and, in the moment, forget some important responsibilities. There is one answer for my weakness. I have to always make a goal for every day and have a purpose that governs over all of the things in my life. Living like this, I can enjoy and have what is most important in life.

I think I'm choleric. A lot of times, my attitude is "If I want something done right, I should do it myself." It's not that I don't trust anyone, but it's that I have a bad habit of thinking "I can do it faster when I have it my way." I'm a perfectionist and the truth is that it's a big problem for me. Sometimes it seems like other people think I'm bossy. I like to work and I like being successful, and I don't like it when I feel frustrated that I can't work the way I want.

Yo diría que soy sanguine con algoreserva. Estoy Nunca llegar tarde, siempre autosuficientes y independientes, tambien soy muy creativo como lael melancholic. I would say I'm sanguine with some exceptions. I'm never late, always self reliant and independant, also very creative like the melancholic.
I think you and izan are doing a really good job.
I wonder why people don't ask proficient speakers like Issa, Izan, alba...and a lot more I can think of to have a go at correcting I can step in , but I cannot be in charge of all threads of this site. As you can see, there were just a couple of mistakes left.

Hey I am DEFINITELY! Sanguine AND Phlegmatic.
When someone gets in my face or something like that I can be very defensive. If I see someone like, being mean to someone or something like that, I tell them to leave them alone (thats why I have so many friends at school and am so popular) When I first meet someone I can be very shy! At the beginning of the school year I was known as quiet shy new girl. Well look at me now! I am now known as varsity dancer, nice person and gymnast! So that's me! With my relationships with my "guy friends" they don't like me not only because of my looks but also because of my attitude.
