Hamburguesa or Hamburger

Hamburguesa or Hamburger

If I go into a restaurant and ask for an hamburguesa, what I receive is not actually what I know of as a hamburger. It looks like one, but the burger part is actually more like what they refer to as jamón (which isn't actually very ham-like either). Has anyone else encountered something like this?

Sounds like you got "mystery meat"

When I was in jail, once a week we got what we called "mystery meat" in a sandwich. To this day I still do not know what it was.

Are you sure you were in a restaurant? Ha ha ha...

It is definitely mystery meat to me. Some restaurants here even make the distinction hamburguesa and hamburguer americana. I'm just curious to know if it is like that anywhere else. - h1deaway, MAR 2, 2010
