Searching for Carlos F: On Facebook, help required, missing person search posted
Ok, so I registered on freakin facebook, 
, yes, I know, I said I would never do that.
So, ok, I found him. On Facebook. His page is private though and only by chance did I get to see a list of friends and I sent a message to one of them, may be you know better how to do this, as I am new I have no idea, but I am sure I will get lots of help here.
Let's make a major search, at least we must find out where he is and what happened. May be he just has no possibility to contact anybody, but on Facebook I am sure people will know something.
I tried to find him on Benz's search function for missing people, but he is not registered, I guess that is a good thing.
OK, I have added him as missing person on the search function Benz supplied: We have his name and his picture, this is a good thing.
Ok, so here is his profile on Facebook. (you can only see his page if you are registered) This is an extraordinary situation which requires extraordinary measures.
Please register in Facebook, if you are not registered yet, and send a message. May be to one of his friends. Please help!!
I have sent like 10 mails, never got an answer.

I talk to Carlos on Skype and I have been watching that and he has not been on there since the quake. I too believe that he is just extremely busy and that the power is still not up and running just yet. There must be a zillion things to take care of. I am praying that all are safe and cared for.

When I added him as a friend, all that popped up for me was a list of my friends to suggest for him.
I think that usually means that he has a very undeveloped page and doesn't have many friends listed. But it's a start.
I mentioned Carlos on my Facebook page on Saturday.

I am totally with you on this one! For some reason Facebook is just not something that interests me, much to the disappointment of friends and family. I would much rather be chatting in Spanish and learning here instead of buying "farm animals" and "mixed drinks" on that site.
However, in this case, Facebook can be very useful. I'm sorry I can't be of more help to you since I only go on once in awhile under my husband's profile to see pics of my kids, etc. I'm sure there are much more qualified people than me to help with Facebook.
Let me know if there is some other way I can be of use in the search.
Of course, as always, my thoughts and prayers have been with Carlos and all of our Chilean friends.
I just put your statement up on the wall also, it's a good idea and hopefully someone on freakin facebook will pick up on it. I'm holding on to the lack of communication thought and that he is doing OK.

Seems like he isn't very active on facebook. No pictures, no news feed, no pages registered or.. he just blocked everything for non-friends. That could make it pretty hard for us to find out if he's ok trough facebook since he'll have to accept the friend request first in order for us to see more... But I sended him a friend request and 8 more people popped up that are listed as his friends.
If anyone could send me a message in Spanish that I can send to those people, then I'd be happy to spam them all 
Let's hope that if enough people do this, one of them will get sick of the spam and answer us
