olomina -- what is the definition?

Question

From a book I am reading the word "olomina" is used a lot in one chapter. Here is one bit of context:

"No son pescados. Son peces nadando en una pecera. Se llaman olominas."

I know they are some kind of tropical fish (I want to think they are "guppies") Ok "olomina" is not in my dictionary; not on this site, not on WR, but I found it on RAE.

f. C. Rica, El Salv. y Hond. Nombre genérico de varias especies de peces pequeños, que habitan en aguas dulces o salobres de Centroamérica. Son comestibles curados y salados.

So are "olominas" guppies" or a generic tropical fish. Nothing serious here I am just curious.

Scientific name:Brachyrhaphis olomina

Nombre común en español: Olomina

Olomina-tandkarpe in Danish. I did not find any common name in English.

Guppy is a different fish (Poecilia reticulata)

Common Name: Olomina Latin Name: Brachyrhaphis holdridgei It looks very similar to Brachyrhaphis roseni (and goes by the same common name, Olomina),

so it seems the common name is the same in english.
